Joyful even through the pain
While I was at Adventures in Missions, I had some amazing opportunities to talk to the elders. Madeline, which was one of the seniors, shared her story with me. Her mom was very sick and wanted to be moved to the Atlanta hospital so she could be buried next to her parents when she died. Madeline was in and out of the hospital too. She had both shoulders replaced which still causes minimal movement. Also, she has had three back surgeries and two knee replacements. I asked her what she would have done when she was younger to cause all the surgeries! She started in on how she had to work three jobs so her son could go to college. Unfortunately, her son passed away too.
Madeline was so joyful even through all the pain!
I want my life to be an example of that.
I went to the senior center planning on ministering to the elders, but they ministered just as much to me.
Adventures in Missions was such a cool experience and I can’t wait to go back next year!
