Hard Work Pays Off

For two days our team partnered with Community Church, located outside of Atlanta, to help put together and organize a store. The store is a way to reach out to the community and offer clothes and household décor to those in need.

When we arrived on day one, Rev. Felicia sat us down in a circle to give us background information on the church and the area. Hearing her story was eye opening for many of us. She then prayed over the project and sent us off to gather all the donated bags and boxes from storage.

As the storage unit emptied, the store began to fill.

With proper gloves on, we rummaged through all the bags and boxes to separate the good from the bad. We wanted to make sure the community left with worthy clothes and household items.

Then came the organization of the departments on day two. There were men, women, and children departments along with household goods. Racks for clothes and shoes were also donated to make the store look professional. The store was overflowing and so we packed boxes up nicely so the racks could be refilled once items were claimed and taken to it new home.

We left knowing that we made a difference.

It took the church team of volunteers plus our team of thirty people to get the store finished in two day’s. Had we not listened to God telling us to go to Atlanta, it would have taken the church an extensive amount of time longer to put the store together.

The church recorded over 300 people coming to the store. That means 300 people were reached that Friday night.

300 people were blessed.
