The final day of our mission’s trip consisted of asking the Lord to guide us.

Our team gathered in the morning for a quick devotion on listening prayer and then separated to have quiet time to hear God’s voice. We came back together in our small groups to discuss what we had heard and to see if there were any similarities.

Energy was bouncing off the walls as each person realized they were hearing from God. God was speaking and telling the team to go to the Martin Luther King memorial, the park, and dunkin doughnuts. They heard actions to pray for others, to buy coffee, to hand out food, and more.

Our team was blessed the previous two days with lunch from the church and so we had a lot of lunch and snack food to give away. The sandwiches were prepared as snacks were collected and personal handwritten notes were created. All this was specially placed into brown paper bags ready to be handed out.

The group divided into two teams and headed out to Atlanta.

A couple hours later they returned with countless stories to share. Stories of personal growth, feeding the homeless, prayers over strangers, using personal money to buy coffee and water for others, and so much more.

On day one, we received shirts that said, “Be the Light Shining in the Darkness”.

This group became that Light.

One response to “Hearing God’s Voice”

  1. How exciting. The Lord shows up when we make ourselves available. What a wonderful week.
