The youth from Waterlife Church from Lenoir, NC learned about hearing the voice of God & how to apply it in ministry! We talked about how we can hear from the Father and then apply it in ministry. We explored with our group the 5 adventure’s objectives about testing out if we are truly hearing from the Holy Spirit:
TEST IT!
1. Does it exalt Christ? (John 16:14)
2. Is it scriptural? (Proverbs 30:5-6)
3. Do other Christians confirm it? (Proverbs 15:22)
4. Does it produce good fruit? (John 15:1-6)
5. Does God bring it to pass? (Isaiah 55:10-11)
We prayed over our youth & confirmed to them the ways that they can hear from the Lord in relation to how other’s heard from the Lord in scripture: words, from other believers, dreams, visions, smells, burning bushes…and more). The teams took some time to be alone with God and wrote down what the Lord was laying on their hearts to do once they went out in Atlanta. Some of the common themes that multiple people heard from the Lord were doughnuts, coffee shops, pay it forward, children, fountains, basketball courts, feeding the homeless, daily bread, and talking with people. It was so exciting because as soon as the groups got together and shared ideas & noticed commonalities they were so ready to do it! The teams felt like the Lord wanted them to pack lunches and distribute food to homeless. We had extra food from the week so we made about 50 lunches and then the groups went out to some local parks & to the Martin Luther King Center where they encountered many people who received prayer, words of encouragement, and meals! I love how much love got poured out into the city. We heard stories of tears being shed at Dunkin doughnuts from a woman who got a frozen hot chocolate, backpackers, and homeless getting lunches/being prayed for. Our youth also played with kids at Olympia Park in the splash pad & had a lot of fun hanging out! Here are some pictures of their ministry from ATL.

There was such a transformation in the hearts of the youth during ministry this week; tears were shed as they even shared testimonies of their missions stories from Haiti and Costa Rica. These youth are world changers and God has amazing plans! I know Papa is so proud of these son’s and daughters!

“Most Assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father. “And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it”. –John 14:12-14
