On our last day of the mission trip to Atlanta, we had our scavenger hunt. [A ministry exercise involving letting the Holy Spirit lead] One of the things on the list was getting people to dance with you in the fountain in Olympic Park. It was really cool because we started to do the Macarena to see if anyone would join in, and a bunch of little kids came over and started dancing with us. We just played around in the fountain, dancing to whatever the kids wanted to do and just getting to know them and their stories. By the time we were done, we stood in a circle with about 10 little kids and we prayed together. One little girl prayed for the group and then we prayed for them.
It was really neat to see such little kids be so passionate about the Lord, especially at such a young age. The kids were so excited about being at a Christian camp that week and they completely lit up when we said we were Christians too. Watching them be so happy and love the Lord as much as they did made me want to grow in my relationship with God, and has really opened my heart to want to pursue more mission work. I really enjoyed our week in Atlanta and am excited about what God will continue to do, both for the children we interacted with, but also in us.
